He continued laughing, scrambling to his feet and stumbling through the sand before getting his balance, chasing after her and hitting the water near her before leaning down to splash his hands in it, aiming it at her with a grin. He raced further into the water before she could retaliate before sticking his tongue out at her and waving his arms.
“Come on, come and get me!”
She lifted a hand to her mouth to hide her playful scoff at him tripping in the sand. The splash doused her rolled-up shorts and sprinkled her t-shirt. Since it was such a hot day, it felt nice, but the coolness made her gasp quietly.
As she recovered, she noticed him running out further, and chased after him. “I’ll make you pay!” A little water was nothing to a flower, it made them lively! And Daisy was no exception. She caught up to him, swatted the water towards him and missed a few times before one landed him in the face.
He laughed at her attempts to splash him, ending up swallowing a mouthful of saltwater and sputtering comically. When he’d recovered, he dunked himself under the water, cutting a neat path underwater with strong strokes until he reached her, popping up and shaking his head, water spraying everywhere as he grinned widely.
Swimming backwards for a few feet, he lifted a hand and blew her a cheeky kiss before disappearing underwater again, leaving no indication as to where he’d gone.
